Thanks Mandy for replying to my post. Sorry the surgery didnt work for you. I think decompression surgery would not help me much as i have been told by a surgeon that it may help my legs short term but not my back.

My mum has osteoarthritis in her back, arms, and knees. She was diagnosed with osteoarthritis after she'd had my brother back in October 1991. As far as I know my mum has never been offered any type of surgery to help with her osteoarthritis.
My mum also uses a walking stick to get around when her knees are bad, but she finds it really difficult to move when he back is bad.
My mum's osteoarthritis only plays up in the cold weather and months. Plus she's alot mpre active now than what she used to to be.

I have osteoarthritis in knees and ankles which is worse in hot and humid weather. No medication is taken as yet. Since relocation to cooler weather I haven't had a problem .

I have osteoarthritis in my spine, I think I may have fibromyalgia as I have pain all over. I was wondering if anyone suffered with numbness in the feet along with muscle tremors in the calves

Oh sorry to hear that but at least I am not alone with this. It's only the last year that I have noticed it, had some physio and he said it would go but alas it didn't. Take care

I have osteoarthritis in my lumbar sacral at L4/L5 with a prolapsed disc and trapped nerve, all in the same place. I started to get really bad muscle spasms in my pelvis and groin area, November before last, following an MRI scan. I had a nerve block in March 17 and that has really helped, however, I still get pins and needles in my arms and legs, and have done for at least 10 years. A GP told me it was neurosis and a physio told me that as we age our spinal column shrinks, but the nerves running through it don't so they are more prone to becoming pinched and causing pins and needles and numbness in the arms and legs.

I have been going for physio for my back Physio doesn't help but the right foot gets bouts of numbness regularly. I don't know why.

@julania Thanks for that. I have never had a Mri scan so I don't know the extent of the Osteoarthritis I have , though I know from the doctor that it gets worse with age.

Hi I have Osteoarthritis in my lower back multi level. This has progressed to Spinal Stenosis in my ankles and legs. I use a walking stick to get around and am house bound a lot lately due to difficulty walking for long periods. I have been offered decompression surgery on my spine and was wondering if anyone else has got good results from this?.
