I have had high blood pressure for many years now, and epilepsy for 45 years.
When hypertension sets in obviously my blood pressure is raised, which can also then bring on a seizure.
I currently take Atenolol 50mg. (one daily) which seems to control it.

Hello Maggie Mae
Furosamide is a Diuretic to keep your swellings down by reducing the fluid built up. It is often prescribed to patients with Hypertension. You are also on Doxasoxine and Ramipril. Ramipril has a good protection for heart and is the better medication for blood pressure than most. If your BP is constantly low, then you need to seek medical advice to see if your doses need decreasing. If its just randomly low, but on average its normal, than you should take note of on the average blood pressure. If its showing high all the time, or low most of the time, then check with your GP to see if the dose needs to be adjusted. I don't know how often you check your BP. It is best to check it at the same time each day, and when you are at rest for at least 10 to 15 minutes. I check mine first thing in the morning after I have had my cup of tea, which is around 07.30. Then again around 2 pm and 6 pm. Finally I check it when I have been in bed for an hour, watching TV and before I go to bed. Do you keep a diary or record of your BP for your GP to see if the dose needs adjustment? If you don't, perhaps it will be a good idea if you start keeping a record. Hope this helps. Sorry its so long. Good luck.

@Sandykg
Hi Sandy
Yes, there are natural ways to control you BP although, it should not be substituted for prescribed blood pressure reducing medication. There are a lot of fruits and supplements that help keep the BP under control. If you google, List of fruits to reduce BP, the whole lot comes up. Pomegranate and Water melon being the most popular. Omega 3 and Fish oils also help. Exercise is very important too. The more sedentary you are, the higher your BP.
Hope this helps

thanks.i do eat loads of fruit,veg.&fish....but I dont do any formal exercise as such- Im a Care Assistant, and on my feet for 11 hr nightshifts x 3 nights a week,so need the days following to sleep &recover. Catching up on chores &shopping,gardening etc when I can.
Never find time to commit to regular classes or sessions of anything..This is my downfall.

Hi Sandy, from what you're saying you don't need to have much formal exercise I was a carer too in my younger days and that was enough exercise for me. As long as you eat properly and don't skip meals (that was my biggest downfall) take all your prescribed medication on time also check your BP regularly I wouldn't think there was much more you can or need to do 💖

Relaxation and mindfulness may be helpful.not everyone is suited to particular blood pressure meds and it is important to see your GP regularly advising them of your progress and problems

I was born with two week spots that were found when they had grown into aneurysms and one ruptured.

Hello there, can I have your thoughts on the subject of blood pressure.
Nov2015 I had a stroke it appears my bp played a huge part in this reading very high plus an anurism, I've recovered remarkably well with meds and determination I'm very pleased to say.
My only problem was keeping the bp down.
the bp meds I take are .. Fursomide 40mg 1 per day Doxazosin 4mg 2 per day Ramipril 10mg 1 per day
my blood pressure stayed high ish all the time but today I was feeling very light headed, I got my hubby to take my no and it has dropped right down
