@bacardikim Hello bacardikim, thank you for opening this discussion! I've moved it to our "Treatments for type 2 diabetes" group for more visibility. Let me tag some other members who can potentially share their experiences with Ozempic.
Hello everyone, how are you today? Have you been prescribed Ozempic injections for your Type 2 diabetes? Has it worked for you? If so, can you share your thoughts and experiences on it?

@ange1963 ive been taking 3 weeks now and have been quite ill with it constant upset stomach and nausea/sickness, I told the gp id persevere as hes given me some sickness tablets which seems to be helping, just hoping the stomach eases of as I also had stomach issues after they upped the dose of gliclazide so its been like double trouble😭 hopefully it will settle soon

Hi everyone, I have been on Ozempic for a few months now and I am sure it is helping. My blood sugar has remained constant despite me eating and drinking the wrong things from time to time. Give it a try.

@Nyreb1 That's fantastic news! Did you have any side effects initially like @bacardikim ?
Take care,

Hi Courtney, no as far as I can remember I had no odd side effects, maybe a bit more wind than before but that soon passed. Don’t worry about the needle, it is so fine that you feel absolutely nothing.
Take care

I ended up coming of this injection the side effects were horrendous so back on empagaflozin for now and looking at maybe going on insulin as running out of options now

I have been on Semaglutide and it makes me so sick to my stomach that I feel like going to be throwing up. They switched me to the daily tablets and those were worse. I felt sick the whole day. And that's with following the instructions to the letter.
That being said, while that is a common side effect, apparently the severity isn't so common and I'm on several medications for diabetes (including insulin and metformin), cholesterol, gastric issues and mental health. So the side effects could be a reaction to all of the various meds as well.
Wish you well on your journey.
