JazzyC If you are going to catch this blessed virus there is nothing you can do to stop it? FACT. Keeping yourself in isolation does help, it's the people that take no notice of advise from the experts that are seriously spreading the disease. I've not been out since the 18th of March, NO visitors either, so I'm doing just fine. JazzyC I'm always here for you if you need someone to shout at, or have a really good moan about things. It's hard when other people can't see whats wrong with you, can't see the pain and suffering that we go through. You just have to take a deep breath and tell them again and again if necessary until they do understand just how life can be for people like us. Keep yer chin up kid!!! an' fill yer boots..... ..lol...lol
When you have your party tell me, and my wife and I would certainly help you celebrate your daughter Raven, Bless her little cotton socks.
My Friend. Promise me just one thing... STAY POSITIVE... you are not alone.
Take Care Gal.. L&BW's from all of us at No.10.

Thank you I have got to shield but keeping busy, I have started making diamond paintings for Xmas presents and doing some family research so keeping busy. Luckily I have my dog for company.
My daughter is sending me lovely pictures of my new granddaughter Raven which is lovely.
It makes me so cross when you see the number of idiots breaking the self isolation law, some of us don't have a choice. I just don't understand what is so difficult to understand.
How are you and your wife coping with all this. Hope you are keeping as well as you can. If you need to rant at someone who understands what it is like to have an invisible disability you now where I am.
Have a good Easter love from Jan and Herbie my dog.

I'm 62, type 2 medication controlled, hypertension taking ramipril, both conditions well controlled. Im an NHS nurse tho not front line (dementia care facility). Our NHS trust has deemed we can do our job whilst practicing safe distance!! After many phone calls to HR and managers it has been decided that those in category 2 group have to be redeployed away from patient facing roles. These are government guidelines as well as ACAS and should not be ignored by employers. All employers have a duty of care and surely to ignore this would make them.liable?

@Blondie67 I work in a GP surgery and have been told the same, not classed as vulnerable now.

I know I wish they would make there minds up. About a month ago I was told I was classed as vulnerable and requested to take 12 weeks isolation.

@Blondie67 me too, I'd rather be safe at home than in the surgery to be honest but you can only follow the current advice. Stay safe and well.

Hello everyone,
Since the Coronavirus pandemic concerns many across the UK (and Carenity members too), I've created this discussion to allow you to talk specifically about the virus in the context of Type 2 diabetes, as we all know that people with underlying health conditions can be more affected.
If you haven't yet seen, we've published a few articles outlining the general information and guidelines for both the general population and for those with chronic illnesses:
Coronavirus: What do you need to know?
Coronavirus and chronic illness
Are you worried about the coronavirus? Have you received any special instructions from your doctor regarding your care? Are you going to limit your travel? Do you feel that you are sufficiently informed about the general and specific recommendations? Have you taken any specific precautions?
Feel free to share your comments or questions below!
Take care,
Courtney
