Medication indications

Clobazam Accord 10mg Tablets

Clobazam is a 1,5-benzodiazepine indicated for the short-term relief (2-4 weeks) only of anxiety that is severe, disabling or subjecting the individual to unacceptable distress, occurring alone or in association with insomnia or short term psychosomatic, organic or psychotic illness. The use of clobazam to treat short-term “mild” anxiety is inappropriate and unsuitable.

Before treatment of anxiety states associated with emotional instability, it must first be determined whether the patient suffers from a depressive disorder requiring adjunctive or different treatment. Indeed, in patients with anxiety associated with depression, clobazam must be used only in conjunction with adequate concomitant treatment. Use of benzodiazepine (such as clobazam) alone, can precipitate suicide in such patients.

In patients with schizophrenic or other psychotic illnesses, use of benzodiazepines is recommended only for adjunctive, i.e. not for primary treatment.

Clobazam may be used as adjunctive therapy in epilepsy.

No side effects detected with a daily dose of Clobazam 10mg that Ive been taking since 2014.  In addition to taking just Epilim, the latter since 2007, i had more seizures back then together with different drug combinations.

Currently taking Briviact also called Brivarecetam. Seizure occurrence down from 3 to 5 a month post op to around 2 monthly.  Occasionally i have 6 seizures in a month due to stress.

I have far fewer seizures but my quality of life has not improved much in terms of the fact that I have uncontrolled epilepsy( not seizure free), that i accept as my intensity of absence seizures are less.  however, my employment opportunities are 0% or no chance at all due to me having difficulties in following instructions at home and at work.  I feel that there are people with epilepsy worse than me yet I struggle alot more and this is profoundly frustrating and I feel helpless.  5% of my brain (hippocampus) is affecting 95% of my ability to lead an independent life.

I try not to stress, and until Covid was volunteering after losing my job in 2016.  I was offered a placement at another Solicitors in 2018 but after 6 weeks my employer was not amused and highly critical so I had no option but to resign rather than face an abnoxious boss.

Sad how lawyers are there to bring justice but are no different to politicians in how they treat people.

Currently I do exercise but not at the gym anymore as I dont want to catch covid and pass it on to my parents who are elderly or my wife.  I have no friends so have nobody to turn to other than my healthcare team.
