The only problem I have with this tablet is that it if you take a dose late, you come out in hot sweats but are also shivering, feels like flu. Especially if you miss a night time dose.

I am on Pregabalin and Morphine and get "withdrawal" symptoms if I miss a dose but just assumed that the Morphine was to blame. It never crossed my mind that Pregabalin could be responsible.Thanks

I’m exactly the same as Sunflower. If I miss a dose I have hot sweats and shivers. I have al so put on around 10 lbs. in weight.

I am on Pregabalin and Morphine .I have been having problems with "withdrawal" symptoms if I miss a dose but just assumed that it must be the MST(morphine) that was to blame. It never crossed my mind that Pregabalin could be to blame. Thanks

Thanks for the leaflet. I’m on Pregabalin and there are numerous side effects, weight gain, dont miss a dose as you’ll feel dreadful but the gains outweigh the side effects. Hope this helps. I take 450mg a day.

I have a number of medications for my stomach pain including the max dose of pregabalin, which are Amitriptyline, Burophen patch which I change every 6 days instead of 7 ( I did get this sanctioned by my pain management team) and Tramadol. If I happen to have forgotten to take my Pregabalin, which may happen very infrequently, my pain builds very quickly and within just a couple of hours I realise I have missed taking it. Having said this, I have this happen if I have forgotten to take any of my meds, my pain soon builds.

I will be pleased to be going off Pregabalin from mid-May, 2023. It has been a terrible year since on it, and I have found that the side effects have been horrendous. It has not helped the frequency or pattern of my seizures, and I cannot wait to get off it.

My neurologist put me on Pregabalin, but not for my arthritis. I have had a sever headache for 14 months now and have had to take 4 doses daily of paracetamol and ibuprofen. It stops them for about 6 hours then it starts again. The Pregabalin was supposed to be a pain blocker. I only take 1 x 25mg capsule a day as it makes me sleepy if I take 2, although 2 are more effective than 1. But the pain from my arthritis is no better either.

Affects my short term memory terribly. Even everyday simple words and names of people well known to me have been a serious problem. I switched from gaberpentine to pregabaline as it was perceived as not such a problem upon s/t memory issues. It didn’t seem to make much of an improvement with my memory issues and I don’t think it is quite as effective upon nerve pain but I was on a very large dose of gaberpentine 3,600mls daily. Psychology a reduction in the dosage of pregabaline has helped. When I try to reduce either drug I’m quickly reminded how effective and necessary this drug is. Increased weight gain has been a constant problem thoughout the long period that I’ve been using it.

I hope that the benefits of these drugs far outweigh the difficulties of this powerful drug.

It doesn’t have any obvious side effects.Again pharmacy messed up prescription then I realised how well it was working. Don’t find it helps at all with sleep as dr suggested. Take it with naproxen and co codamol 30mg I would rather take less tablets but don’t like the side effects from what I have been offered

I was previously on gabapentin but I think it made me put on weight. So my GP amended my prescription to pregabalin. My pain is handled much better being on this but I am on the maximum possible., and if I forget to take a Pregabalin capsule, I soon know about it.

I am not sure if my memory loss is affected by Pregabalin, this would explain a lot.

Thank you for the interesting information about Pregabalin; I have now been put on to it from March 2022.

At the moment I am on a small dosage of 25mg., which gets increased in a few days to 50mg. and then increased to 75mg. twice daily.

I am now aware of the side effects yet, as I am still weaning off Oxcarbazepine. I believe it causes weight gain, but not sure yet until I get onto the proper dosage.

It is interesting to see the side effects other patients have whilst taking the drug.

Previously took high dose of gabapentine 3600 mls per day. This was a bit more effective but a difficult drug to take. Had severe effects upon S/t memory, always fatigued, head aches. Pregabalin is a bit easier on the body and memory but not quite as effective on nerve pain.
