Hey @Wallygog! How are you feeling today?
I am so sorry to hear that you cannot do the long walking exercises anymore. I hope you find something that fits your current situation more soon. I will tag some members who might want to share their thoughts on this topic.

Hey everyone! How are you?
How has your journey with osteoarthritis been lately? Do you do physical exercises? What exercise works the best for you? Any recommendations for weight loss?
Take care,

@Polina.K I play golf. It means I am walking for 3 ½hrs. I altered my grip to cope with the arthritis in my hands. Walking also helps with the arthritis in the hip and the lymphoedema in my left leg. It’s out in the fresh air.

I have found that I can swim and cycle without too much pain. So that is what I will be doing until I have my hip replacement done, sometime in the next 6 months.

@atrekinthesun unfortunately swimming is too expensive at my local baths but that would be my first choice

I get it. I had a total knee and thankfully quit smoking too. It took magor surgery to quit! So keep “ overdoing it and going backwards
but I found chair workouts on you tube!
there's some mellow chair yoga which is great but you want to get hi intensity. Look around for upper body chair workouts to stretch core and upper body and even move your legs. Hope this helps. Exercise is only 20% of weight loss. The rest is diet. But it will increase metabolism and get you burning calories

I have severe osteo arthritis in both knees since 2020. I have gained weight due to lack of exercise as I used to walk briskly for an hour every morning before work but can no longer do this. What exercises can I do that won't cause me any more knee pain that will encourage weight loss please? I was going to try swimming but its too expensive to go these days! Thank you in anticipation.
