Hello everyone,

I am your community manager, Marina.

In this group you can share your thoughts on alcohol dependence. How you cope with your condition in daily life, how it affects you, etc. If you have any questions you can also share them here.

Please don't hesitate to introduce yourself to the other members and get a discussion going.

All the best,

Marina

Hi Marina and all other members of this group.

I am John, a recovering alcoholic with a little bit of sobriety behind me now. I have some difficulty getting to AA meetings as I spend a lot of time at home looking after my partner who has ME. So, I thought I would join this group and contribute what I can, when I can.

Kind regards

John

Hi there,

I am Brian, and i am in recovery from alcohol dependency / addiction after being given 6 - 12 months life expectency back in March 2005 if i continued to drink.

I went into alcohol detox on 30th June 2005 and have not had any alcohol since, which is now over 10 x years.

I now support others struggling and wishing to stop drinking alcohol, as well as support those who are in recovery and struggling with day to day challenges.

I have now set up a small charity to help others

Hi all, I hope it's ok that I comment on this now. I've been an alcoholic for several decades now and i've been through quite a few periods of sobriety only to fall off the wagon again. I went through a programme around 8 years ago that really helped and I've been sober ever since, which is a good thing because I also have psoriatic arthritis and the drinking was terrible for inflammation. Sometimes I wonder if my addiction brought on the PA.
