I've been lucky in that so far it's only caused me occasional trouble with UTIs or kidney stones. It was a bit of a shock to find out I had this rare disease and even more so to know I probably got it from my father! I'm lucky that my employers are understanding and flexible with me when I need to take off or work from home because of a stone or a UTI. After I was diagnosed I tried to turn over a new leaf in my life so I quit smoking and overhauled my diet to try to bring down my blood pressure. And I really try to drink as much water as possible to help with the UTIs and stones. :)
