Morning,

I've just joined this group and I was wondering if any of you have been diagnosed with autism in adulthood.

My dad is being diagnosed right now! He has already seen a psychiatrist who has already given a first opinion. He still has a few other doctors to see to confirm the diagnosis. It's been, very hard for us, his family but at the same time it's a relief to know?

Can anyone share what daily life is like with autism? I'd love to learn what I need to do to best be there for him and support him through this. emoticon cute

Thank you xx

Hi Courtney, I was diagnosed at the age of 12... but routine is important I believe (I’m not sure how being diagnosed in adulthood is affected by this). Autism affects everyone differently, how has he coped with the potential diagnosis? Have you noticed any changes in his mood/behaviour? It’s quite difficult to answer in one comment.

regards,

scott
