Hello yvonne. I have a close friend who is allergic to all furry animals, all nuts, all seafood, many fruits etc. and I know that it has been difficult for him, but he has become very good at speaking up! Meaning that he doesn't just expect that the food doesn't contain what he is allergic to. This might be basic knowledge for someone with food allergies, but especially in college I can only imagine that it might be difficult to stand out like that. Will she be able to have a little fridge in the room? Because that could help her a lot with e.g. prepping her own lunch. As for the animal hair I guess the most important part is that her roommates will be understanding and be aware of potential cat hair etc. on their clothes. So it is necessary for her to let them know about her allergies.

I wish you and your daughter all the best and I hope she will be able to combine life at campus with her allergies.
