Hi
i too have put on a bit of weight but today I started a new timetable. Got up early and went for a 30 minute walk, had an omelette for lunch and plan to do another 30 minute walk this evening. Really going to try and do two walks a day and gradually increase the distance walking. Hope this helps me to loose weight and get fitter x

@Psulsayhi I am so sorry. Is there anyone you can reach out to that you are close to and comfortable with and talk about your feelings. I feel badly for you. Try to hang in there! Hopefully this mess will all be over soon!! People care!!! 🧡🧡

Hi all, I'm still 'shielding' at the moment, but thankfully, haven't put any weight on during the 9 weeks since this all took over everyone's lives. In fact I've managed to lose 6 pounds, probably because I haven't been able to 'pick something nice' off the shelf as I've been passing it!! The government box of goodies supplied each week contains a lot of gluten containing goods which I can't eat (but which my neighbours can) and other useful goodies, but not a lot of variety. However, I have been very grateful to receive it, as I can't expect my neighbours to do a full shop for me, only top up. I will continue to watch my diet though as we come out of lockdown. I have fibromyalgia, severe arthritis of the spine, feet, neck and shoulders, so exercise, other than a very slow gentle stroll and possibly a little armchair exercises when I'm not in too much pain, is pretty much out for me. However, I am interested to follow this page for more interesting, healthy food ideas. Stay safe everyone...

My eating habits have not changed due to Lock down. But I have missed my swimming sessions twice a week and gym once a week. i do the exercises to videos at home, but it is not the same as going to the gym. Not being able to do the work out using the weights on the machines, has reduced my muscle mass, and not being able to swim, my joints are playing havoc and the Arthritis pain scale has gone up.
I have kept my self busy cleaning the house, doing spring cleaning of each room in the house and have not been bored at all. I do miss my walks. I can go for walks, but my husband is shielded, and I worry if I pick any thing up and infect my husband. I have only been out for 2 walks in the field behind our house and did not encounter a soul, so that was good. I will try and encourage my hubby to come with me, as a walk in the fresh air in this good weather will do him good.
Yes, I agree that the battles are not over yet. We have a long way to go. Until then, we must stay in, follow the guidelines and stay healthy.

I began the 1:1 Diet by the Cambridge Weight Plan i have been walking my dogs one a guide dog puppy. Gardening, housework and this week i finally lost 2lbs. Still along way to go but it is a start. Took a few weeks for my body to start losing weight as i put on over 2st with my medications so fingers crossed each week i'll keep losing. I would normally be swimming 3 times per week but can't at present. I used to do martial arts 3 times per week for many, many years but had to give it up due to this blasted fibromyalgia.

@Marie9 I'm doing thus challenge for a local mental health charity. I'm sheilding so getting the 10,000 in can be challenging within the boundaries of my home but it gives me focus and I have lost a few pounds.

@Paulineashort Hello my friend, I too want to cry and do so quietly in my room. I'm not able to walk except for a few steps round the house holding on to furniture. I have bowel problems which have caused weight loss. AS has caused me to become unable to do the things most people who post here can. Please don't cry, you can turn your depression around by talking it out with someone you can trust. You can email me at Balicrisiscare@hotmail,com anytime you need to talk. I am a nurse and a social worker even though I must work from home nowadays. I do have a clinic with very experienced staff and tend to the very poor from destitute mountain villages in Bali. I am here for you...please contact me...Love and all things nice coming your way, just reach out...G

Hello everyone,
How are you today?
For many of us, the lockdown has led us to pick up a few bad habits: snacking, more time in front of the telly and less exercise. According to a study backed by the British Obesity Society, nearly 50% of British people say they have put on weight since lockdown began in March, with more than 16% gaining five pounds or more in the first six weeks.
Now that the good spring weather is on its way, let's motivate one another to get back into shape!
How have you experienced the lockdown in terms of diet and activity? Are you ready to take part in our challenge?
What are you doing to get back into sport or exercise? What kind of sport do you do? How often do you do it?
Feel free to share any exercises, light recipes or ideas to get back into shape!
Take care,
Courtney
