In honor of World COPD Day we want to share with you 5 foods that are a must on a diet for a person with COPD in order to strengthen their lung function and help fight this disease.

1. Broccoli

According to some research, eating broccoli helps prevent inflammation of the airways and eliminate free radicals.

2. Apples

This fruit contains a lot of flavonoids. Among other things, the latter, like quercetin, are a natural antihistamine and an anti-inflammatory for the airways.

3. Rosemary

Rosemary has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, so it is highly recommended.

4. Sunflower seeds

These seeds have vitamin E, potassium and magnesium which are great for the respiratory system. However, some people should be careful because its consumption can cause allergies.

5. Olive oil

It is the type of fat that helps the body a lot for its anti-inflammatory effects.

In addition to these foods, you should take precautions in your general diet. Like to make 5 to 6 meals a day, so you don’t feel fatigued during digestion, increase the dose of vitamins in general, eating more fruits and vegetables, and eating balanced quantities to help the body be in its best condition to fight the disease.

As always, we remind you that in case of doubts or problems, always consult your GP first.

We hope this information helps.

I am not a lover of eating apples, would apple juice be as good as eating apples?

I have a friend who has given up eating, because she says she cannot eat and breathe. She is under six stone, cannot walk more than four or five steps. I am so worried, she refuses to see Doctor.  I think her body has begun to eat itself. What should I be making to try tempt her appetite. She isn't fond of creamy things or sweet things.
