Hi everyone,

How are you feeling today? 😊

I’d like to revisit the topic of the anti-inflammatory diet, which has come up several times in our forum. While it’s often linked to specific health conditions, the truth is, everyone can benefit from it!

An anti-inflammatory diet focuses on reducing chronic inflammation in the body by emphasizing foods rich in antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, and fibre. This includes fresh fruits and vegetables, oily fish, nuts, seeds, and spices like turmeric and ginger, while cutting down on refined sugars, saturated fats, and processed foods.

Following this kind of diet can help manage chronic disease symptoms and even improve overall health.

Have you tried following an anti-inflammatory diet? Have you noticed any improvements in how you feel? What foods do you include to help reduce inflammation? Do you have any favourite recipes or tips for incorporating more anti-inflammatory foods into your daily meals?

Hi @Thiggs,

Thank you for sharing such a powerful story! It’s inspiring to hear how much of a difference this diet has made for you. It sounds like it took a lot of dedication and adjustment, but the rewards are incredible. Love that you allow yourself some flexibility for special occasions. 😊 If you have any go-to recipes or tips for someone just starting, I know the community would appreciate them!

Take care,

I wouldn't say I follow the diet I didn't know there was one! These are the foods I enjoy eating. I love my fruit, veg & nuts. Regularly having yoghurt fruit, nuts and seeds with my breakfast every morning. Never really done the turmeric and ginger thing, don't really believe it does anything. I do need to up my intake of fish though.

I inadvertently follow the diet and I hadn't realised! I use all of the things mentioned in the article and have done for a long time now, but they don't make a jot of difference to the inflammation in my joints and spine and ginger (as much as I love it) gives me diarrhoea!

I had really excruciating pain in my rib cage, front and back, up into my left shoulder even going into my left hip. This was a result of my dystonia and all its twisting which had caused the inflammation. I spent hours each night using every massage technique known to man! heat pack, cold pack, stretches, accupuncture, anything to release the muscles and ease the pain. My ribs often felt like they were on fire! I was worried as I had read that inflammation could lead to diseases and I was struggling enough with what I already had. So I got researching. I found out that there is something in red meat (Platelets I think, can't recall) that affects our own body and if we don't consume it, there will not be a build up which leads to inflammation. So I went pescatarian! (and later introduced chicken).. It was astounding, within weeks all my pain had gone! and thats the only change I made. Cutting out ALL red meat. I even found my muscle contractions and aches were easier to deal with. I have after several years reintroduced the odd bit of red meat here and there (you've gotta love a bbq!!) and my body has been able to tolerate it. Although there are so many good plant burgers these days, which I enjoy just as much.

Would love to know how people use ginger and turmeric. I can use ginger in stirfry cooking sometimes but turmeric I find harder unless I am doing a curry. How much do people use in tea?

Thanks :D
