Definitely lost muscle mass on arms and across chest etc, started when I finished work early and now skinny arms nothing on them.
I've always thought it was an inevitable part of getting older and as I had almost 50 years of manual work in factories I expected to lose muscle mass.

An interesting one, post radiotheraphy much of my neck muscles have shrunken, eventually they will no longer support my head so may prove interesting. But age is certainly taking its toll on my muscles on most parts of my body as indeed my wife's body. Certainly our bums lose their firmness as indeed the weightloss as we approach our final years. I do wish an idiot's guide to growing old was available as it would be nice to prepare for the final years before death where you bits and pieces become non functional. Already eyes are an issue as night driving a problem or any form of low light in the house make it difficult to see, perhaps a new avenue and discussion on us growing old as our diseases and health declines for Carenity to examine/discuss!

Since being diagnosed with lumbar stenosis and experiencing muscle weakness in my legs, along with excruciating nerve pain, music is my strength! A one hour class of 'Retro fit' to music, makes my body forget the pain and go with music and move. Long term this has proven the best strengthening exercise, for muscle weakness, I could find! So if you get the opportunity and are really driven by music, I hope you have the same experience!

Hello everyone, how are you doing today? 😊
As we get older, losing some muscle mass is a normal part of ageing, but it doesn’t have to be inevitable or unmanageable. Muscle atrophy, or the thinning of muscle, can make daily tasks harder and increase the risk of falls or injury. The good news? It’s possible to slow or even reverse it!
📌 Have you noticed a change in your strength or mobility in recent years?
📌 What kinds of movement or exercises, brisk walking, swimming, yoga, or strength training, have worked for you?
📌 Do you have any tips for staying active when energy is low or when you're dealing with pain or illness?

Even small amounts of movement can make a difference. Let’s share what helps us stay strong and independent. 💪
Take care,
Somya from the Carenity Team 🌼
