it's about time this was spoken about, i am an unpaid carer and have been for 9 years, get no family help and do around 120 hrs p/w, i am on burnout but no one cares, Social Services are a waste of time and as long as you are there they don't want to know, i told them i was on burnout and they threatened to get me removed from the property because of it, the council welfare promise you everything but hear off them once a year, you get promised all sorts but get nothing, i have not had a break in over 5 yers, not even time off for a few hours a day for myself, the system and the government are broken and no-one cares.

Hello everyone!
How are you doing? And how are your loved ones holding up?
Let’s talk about something that often goes unspoken: compassion fatigue, also known as emotional burnout in caregivers. It’s that deep exhaustion that comes from giving so much of yourself for so long, without a break.
Whether you’re a family caregiver or in a caregiving profession, this kind of fatigue can lead to irritability, guilt, trouble sleeping, or feeling disconnected from others. 💬 It’s more common than we think, and no, it’s not selfish to talk about it.
Getting support, recognising your emotional limits, and knowing when to take a pause are all part of caring well, not just for others, but for yourself too. 💛
So tell us:
🧠 Have you ever felt emotionally worn out from caregiving?
😔 Do you struggle to take time for yourself without guilt?
💬 Do you have a safe space to talk, whether with peers or professionals?
