Yes, I got a Lymphoedema in my neck of all places due to radiotherapy during my cancer treatment in 2014. It has been a great concern turning me into bullfrog when it flared up on a regular basis for several years. Now not so bad where I massage and squeeze the glands to drain them of fluid. At the start I was taught various massage techniques by the Lymphoedema clinic and used medical tapes in the first few years. Now as I say a simple massage every few days keeps it at bay but now I am displaying various damage from radiotherapy which could be more serious. My thyroid gland is showing damage and extensive damage to my throat where eating causes choking most times. Something I got early as over 80s suffer from it badly causing food to enter the lungs causing infection. Eventually that may kill me or other damage done. I had my ten years as a cancer survivor so the NHS consider it a success!

Hello everyone,
How are you doing today?
Lymphoedema is a long-term (chronic) condition that causes swelling in the body's tissues. It can affect any part of the body, but usually develops in the arms or legs. The main symptom of lymphoedema is swelling in all or part of a limb or another part of the body.
There's no cure for lymphoedema, but it's usually possible to control the symptoms by wearing compression garments, taking good care of your skin, moving and exercising regularly, having a healthy diet and lifestyle, and using specialised massage techniques.
Do you suffer from lymphoedema? Do you try any of these remedies? How do you cope?
Take care,
Lizzi from the Carenity team
