Hello @Henderson1, thank you for sharing with us, I think you bring up an important feeling that many of us have experienced after treatment. Let me tag some other members who can possibly share their thoughts with you.
Hi everyone, how are you today? Can any of you relate to what Henderson1 describes? For those of you who are out of treatment and/or in remission, have you ever felt lost or unsure of what to do next after your treatment ended? What did you do or who did you turn to for support or direction?

Don't you think that once you achieve a remission you are cast adrift to move forward with very little support. I'm not complaining just making an observation.
To say I enjoyed chemo treatment would be inaccurate, I did enjoy being part of the oncology community, seeing nurses and other patients gave me a sense of normality and validation. Having cancer can be an isolating and lonely experience especially if you have one of the more uncommon cancer. Being on the unit gave me a feeling of security and safety, some where to go where I didn't have to explain myself.
Now 5 months post Sct in remission I don't know how to move forward, how to re establish myself. I am the same me that I was prior to my diagnosis but the experiences through out treatment has altered my perspective. I have lost my job (unable to continue because of fatigue and memory loss) friends (many ran for the hills as soon as the big C reared its head), I have gained true friends, a lust for life that I didn't know I had, gratitude for the small things.
I am happy and positive but at a loss as too what direction I should steer this ship in.
