Hi,

I have a condition called Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, better known as PCOS.  It is an invisable diesease and is quite common. It usually affects people different but, the syntoms are similar.  It can be disabling, but, it is not recognised easily.  Awareness needs to be arose.

Symptons I have:

Hiritisum

Boils (acne)

Lack of periods

Heavy or long periods

Low chance of being fertile

Miscarried

Anxiety

Weight gain (but sometimes does the opposite to another patient with this)

Emotional

Stress

There are more.  If anyone who has the above syntoms and not diagnosed reply asap, if anyone as the same condition reply asap and we will learn from one another.

Take care

A.

Hello angie610,

It is great to find someone else with the same condition. It is true is not as easy to find someone because not everyone knows about this deases or gets tested.

They diagnosed me last year due to my irregularity and then a scan and it has been a long journey trying to learn more about the condition and what to do...

I am taking clomifen cause I want to get pregnant but I am getting a little disapointed with the results.... Do you know a bit about this??? Could you recomend something?

Best

I had surgery for this after the pain caused me to collapse at work when I was 18 after complaining about most of the symptoms' you mentioned since I was 13 gradually getting worse and they only found the three cysts on my ovary when they did a scan because I had just become sexually active and they thought I was pregnant. after the surgery they said if it had been investigated further earlier they could have given me tablets or injections instead. it defiantly needs to be better known.

I also have pcos, I also have emdemetrious was meant to be having surgery end of the month but cancelled,  I have been trying to conceive for around 6 years! I’m lucky to have one child who is ten , with two surgeries clhomid, didn’t work , then my consultant wanted to try zolodex injections every month for four months, this was to basically switch every thing off , it worked to some extent and was mostly pain free and no periods , injections have stopped and 4 months on I’ve just had my first period, pain has come back now xx

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2014/15 (I can't remember which year it was now).

I have irregularities and heavy periods and yo-yoing weight due to my PCOS.

I have also been diagnosed with anovulation  (I have periods, but I don't ovulate).

I have recently had to have some tests (blood tests and an ultrasound scan) as my periods have become even more erratic as in either August or September, my periods were starting and stopping every two or three weeks.

I'm just waiting for the results of my tests now. Although I had to have my bloods redone on Friday morning as the first ones weren't done in the middle of my right arm (I'm left handed and I don't like needles in my left arm. I'm glad that my last ones were done in my right arm as my upper right arm was really painful afterwards) like they were supposed to be done as the nurse had taken the blood from the outside of my right arm, which made the results inconclusive, hence why I had to have them redone.

my upper right arm is still sore, but it's not as bad as it was on Friday.

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2015 by a doctor who I was registered with when myself and my fiance lived in the northeast of England.

I have also been diagnosed with anovulation which basically means that I have a period but I don't ovulate.

I was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome in either 2014 or 2015.

I'd been struggling with heavy painful periods since my first period appeared on my 13th birthday.

I did get a brief break from my heavy painful periods when I was put on the pill cerazette.

I was diagnosed with an 11cm ovarian cyst last August or September.

I had the cyst removed successfully via cystectomy, but I had to stay in hospital for an extra day or 2 a I had an infection which was found when I was on the recovery ward.

I have been worried about the cyst returning though as I was told by the surgeon who did my operation that it can return.
