Hello everyone,

Menopause is often talked about as a single event, but it’s actually a gradual process with distinct phases:

  • Premenopause: The earliest stage when hormonal fluctuations begin, though symptoms may not be noticeable.
  • Perimenopause: The transition period before periods stop completely, often marked by symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep disturbances.
  • Menopause: Officially begins after 12 consecutive months without a period—hormonal changes stabilize, but symptoms can persist.

Understanding these stages can help you better navigate the transition and find the right support.

👉 Did you know the difference between these stages before experiencing symptoms?

👉 What signs helped you identify where you are in the process?

👉 Have you found the right medical or emotional support for each stage?

I have actually been out of menopause for several years. I never experienced any harsh symptoms. Its been so long ago, I don't even recall what symptoms, if any I experienced during Pre/peri menopause.

When asked by a nurse practitioner I took a few seconds to answer as I had adenymyosis and womb ablation combined with underactive thyroid so taking t3 and t4. All symptoms could be aligned with both. I was rudely told that it was not a trick question! Also I slight period after covid jabs. Therefore confused.

To me all the types of menopause are basically the same (They're all stages of this condition) was just put on a tablet in lockdown, I was informed because of my age at the time. I recently spoke to my nurse practitioner who asked me if the tablet was working. To which I answered I actually didn't know as I'd had no particular side effects. I stop taking it for 7 days, finding out it worked. I'd had issues with gums, sleeping, lack of appetite, to mention only a few.

I realised that the tablet was working because previously I had been using Balance app Which had a myriad of different symptoms, of which none I had!
