Medication indications

Phenytoin 100mg film-coated tablets

Phenytoin sodium 100 mg tablets are indicated for the following:

• Control of tonic-clonic seizures (grand mal epilepsy), partial seizures (focal including temporal lobe) or a combination of these

• The prevention and treatment of seizures occurring during or following neurosurgery and/or severe head injury.

Phenytoin sodium has also been employed in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia but it should only be used as second line therapy if carbamazepine is ineffective or patients are intolerant to carbamazepine.

Note: Phenytoin sodium is not effective in absence status epilepticus or in the prophylaxis and treatment of febrile convulsions.

Phenytoin Injection BP

Control of status epilepticus and the prevention of seizures occurring during or following neurosurgery.

Treatment of certain cardiac dysrhythmias, particularly those unresponsive to conventional antidysrhythmic agents or to cardioversion.

Phenytoin Sodium 50mg/ml Solution for Injection

Phenytoin Injection is indicated for the control of status epilepticus of the tonic-clonic (grand mal) type and prevention and treatment of seizures occurring during or following neurosurgery and/or severe head injury.

Phenytoin Sodium Flynn Hard Capsules 25mg, 50mg, 100mg and 300mg

Phenytoin Sodium Flynn Hard Capsules are indicated for control of tonic-clonic seizures (grand mal epilepsy), partial seizures (focal including temporal lobe) or a combination of these, and for the prevention and treatment of seizures occurring during or following neurosurgery and/or severe head injury.

Phenytoin Sodium Flynn Hard Capsules has also been employed in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia but it should only be used as second line therapy if carbamazepine is ineffective or patients are intolerant to carbamazepine.

Phenytoin Sodium NRIM 100mg Capsules (Lime Pharma)

Phenytoin Sodium NRIM 100mg Capsules are indicated for the following:

- Control of tonic-clonic seizures (grand mal epilepsy), partial seizures (focal including temporal lobe) or a combination of these

- The prevention and treatment of seizures occurring during or following neurosurgery and/or severe head injury.

Phenytoin Sodium NRIM 100mg Capsules have also been employed in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia but should only be used as second line therapy if carbamazepine is ineffective or patients are intolerant to carbamazepine.

Loss of balance

Memory Loss

I have been on Phenytoin for over 30 years.

Once put on the correct dosages, this has controlled my tonic clonic seizures.

Due to control, I am very dubious to changing medications.
