Hi everyone,

How are you today? emoticon cute

I thought I would open this discussion to talk about treatments for bipolar disorder.

So, what medications or treatments have you tried for bipolar disorder? What has worked the best for you? Are there any particular therapies or alternative treatments that have helped with manic or deppressive episodes?

The most helpful therapy I have had was keeping a mood diary and then see the patterns over the month. It helped to work out my triggers.  I also found deep muscle relaxation tapes helpful. It's hard to relax when your manic but with perseverance it got easier.  The more relaxed I got the less manic I got. One thing that helped me focus in periods of mania is painting no specific image just formation of shapes and colours but it helped me to focus my mind and completion was part of it.
