I have been taken Lansoprazole for about 20 years without any side effects, my wife takes 30 MG without any issues. But I also take Ranitidine for the last years in a liquid form, apart from tasting horrible no issues. Liquid Metformin and other meds cause real issues with my stomach!

Hi
I've been taking Lansoprazole since 2015. The first dosage was 30mg then around 2017 this changed to 15mg. I haven't had any side effects, but do notice the difference if I forget to take them 2-3 days in a row - then I get a stomach upset.

My husband has n
been taking Lansoprazole 30 mg daily since his surgery for Cancer of the Oesophagus in Feb. 2016. There are no issues. When he was on Steroids the dose was increased to 60 mg. How ever if you google "S
"Long term side effects of Lansoprazole" There is a lot of information on that. Re the best time to take it, its better to take it 20 to 30 minutes before your meal, preferably evening meal if you have Gastric Reflux in the night. Hope this helps.

Thank you all for information. When new on a medication one is always wary. Headaches and tiredness appear to be the 2 main ones at present
Will keep you posted on how it works.

@lesmal I've been taking Lanzoprazole for about 3 years initially 30 gms and now reduced to 15 gms. No side effects from either dosage. Keep on taking the meds as prescribed by your GP.

Update on Lansoprazole... I've been trying to take this 30 minutes before an evening meal... So far so good and it appears to be working. Thank you all for your comments.
I am new on Vimpat (anti-epileptic drug) and found the first night with Lansoprazole brought on allergic reactions. I gave it a few days' break from Lanzoprazole and just gone back to taking it now. I did a 'Google' search for allergic reactions on both but it doesn't seem to have one. Perhaps this was just new medication in the system and needs time to adjust.
I will continue with Lansoprazole and see what the outcome is.
Thank you all!

Hi Everyone,
Am trying to find some advice or knowledge on the above medication.
I was recently on Ranitidine for gastritis, and doctor has now changed to Lansoprazole due to shortage of specific brand of Ranitidine.
Does anyone have any information on side effects this medication might cause? Also, when is the best time to take the medication, also with or without meals?
Thank you!
