There are around 100 different diseases that affect the liver. Among the most common of them are:

- Alcohol-related liver disease
- Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
- Hepatitis
- Haemochromatosis
- Primary biliary cirrhosis

Are you affected by any of these conditions? What symptoms do you have and what treatment do you get?

My mother had Nash and passed away 5 years ago, she was 66. Mom was diabetic type 2 but after losing weight she came off Metformin and her blood sugars remained perfectly fine. I've read that statins can cause fatty liver, which my mom was taking after suffering a massive heart attack at the age of 46. I now have a fatty liver and wonder if it can be genetic.

I have non alcoholic fatty liver I have to be careful what I eat I do have gaul stones but because I'm not in any kind of pain they told me I would be ok but if I do get in pain then they will remove them but I have to be careful what I eat as I am on the border line of being a diabetic I have to watch my sugar and salt levels but I've been like this since being diagnosed as a coeliac .Tiger

I have been struggling with right sides pain for quite some time. I have had various trips to A&E as well as an ultrasound, MRI a nuclear medicine scan and due to have a fibroscan in January.

I was diagnosed with fatty liver when I had my gallbladder removed in 2010.

I am due to see my specialist in March with the results. I have been advised to lose weight but despite having a gastric sleeve I dont seem to be losing anymore just plateaued.

I'm still in a lot of pain have also been diagnosed with gastritis and currently take omeprazole and Ranitidine.

Any advice would be greatly received

Hello everyone,

I have fatty liver since 2000, although all my test are OK. I previously managed my body weight ever since I was diagnosed. That helped me a lot with fatty liver.

I was diagnosed after a fibroscan with NASH (Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis) which is fatty liver disease but more advanced. I have been given no help since then! Very frustrated!

I also have fatty liver but they say I am ok because I am trying to cut down on different foods but I have to be careful as being a coeliac I can only eat what I can but I do have gaul stones but I am ok because I am not in pain with them until they act up they wont take them out so so far so good, but I am looking forward to getting my covid jab at the moment they are doing all the over 80 and over ,but I know I am next and I am on the vulnerable and critical list group 4 I think but I think they are doing them before middle February so hopefully it won't be to much longer, Tigger
