Hi Mr. Chipps
I am sorry for your loss. Being Santa sounds really like a nice way of coping. It must be tough to sit there and hide your feelings, but hopefully the pride you get makes you feel a bit better.
Many people spend their holidays alone and it can feel very isolating. Here is a discussion thread on this subject that might be helpful.
You still have a few months to prepare. Do you have family or friends you'd like to see? Perhaps you can organize a get together around this time?
Take care,
Lizzi

When do people start getting ready for Christmas, I am not a big fan of it because I lost my wife with cancer , just after Christmas 1994 age 45
It upsets me when happy families are all talking about their plans and the gifts they're hoping for?
My way of coping is to be santà in a grotto for several weeks as it helps me cope and gives me a massive sense of pride, because I am doing something very spe ial for families and their kids and adults with mental health issues, who still believe in Santa. That's how I cope with the isolation and emptiness in my life . I basically live a lie about how I am feeling, for everyone else's benefit..
Because I am happy and giving everyone lots of pleasure, and emotional Christmas love and affection
I can't recall how many Christmases, I have spent alone. For me new yeRs eve and day are more lonely, as people will be celebrating . But for me, it's just 3 days nearer to my wifes anniversary, of her becoming an angel in heaven
