Long regarded by Western medicine as a simple alarm sign to protect the body, pain is increasingly seen today as an issue that needs to be tackled down.

Here are some tips that can help you better manage your pain. I hope they will be helpful!

1. Stay Hydrated

Dehydration may aggravate the symptoms of some chronic conditions, like headaches, back pain and muscle pain.

2. Eat more Turmeric

Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, this spice is a beneficial treatment for many health conditions, including chronic pain. Turmeric increases ligament flexibility and boosts the immune system.

3. Yoga and Meditation

Yoga promotes both strength and flexibility while calming the mind and decreasing stress. This can help those suffering from chronic pain.

4. Talk to the help professionals that surround you

No examination may demonstrate the pain you feel. Only the interaction between you and your doctor may allow him to better manage your pain.

The more questions you ask and the more you can express your pain, the better your doctor, pharmacist or nurse may suggest a suitable relief.

In the other hand, if you don’t dare to talk about the subject with the medical team, because of pride or fear of judgement, then you won’t be able to have a suitable diagnosis and treatment.

I think talking to your doctor is essential. Will definitely try to drink more but I can't drink water.

One of the best methods of controlling my pain was by adapting my lifestyle over the years and found this very successful!

I use meditation to control my pain - I have a particular visualisation I use that seems to work well.  I visualise myself walking down a long corridor with lots of doors - I open door after door and walk through them, eventually arriving in a large room.  The only thing in the room is a filing cabinet with six drawers.  All the drawers are empty, but each one is marked with a type of my pain, back pain, knee pain, neck and shoulder pain and so on.  I open each drawer in turn, put my pain in it and close it.  Finally I turn the key at the top right that locks all the drawers and take it from the lock, putting it on a chain around my neck.  I leave the room and shut and lock that door, I walk back down the long, long corridor, closing each of the now open doors behind me and locking it.  The further I go, the more I am distancing myself from the pain locked in the cabinet.  Whether it is the visualisation, or the time spent relaxing my body and mind I don't know, but when things are so bad that even the morphine I take isn't cutting it, this does help

I too use a form of mind control. I too visualise a distant land (I love to travel) where the fauna and flora aid pain relief. It mostly works for me but, there are times wen I need the drugs and then to sleep I go!
