Hello everyone,

How are you doing?

Medical cannabis has been a topic of growing interest lately among chronic illness patients in the UK. 🌿 While it was legalized in 2018, it is still highly regulated and not widely available. Only a few patients are able to access cannabis-based products through the NHS, and many have to seek private prescriptions at significant personal cost.

Some patients find that medical cannabis helps with chronic pain, particularly where other treatments have failed or caused unwanted side effects. However, others remain sceptical about its effectiveness, or are concerned about the lack of long-term research and potential side effects. The government’s cautious approach and limited access have also left many frustrated, feeling that a valuable tool for managing chronic pain remains out of reach. 😔

We must also consider the stigma around cannabis use, which could make some patients hesitant to try it. Despite this, some argue that medical cannabis could be a safer, more natural alternative to opioids, which carry a high risk of addiction and side effects. The question remains whether medical cannabis could one day become a more widely accepted and accessible option for managing chronic pain.

Have you tried medical cannabis for pain management? Do you think it could replace traditional options like opioids? If so, what has been your experience?

As with all the past socialistic failures, infused, selective speech is the first stage in the weakening, and eventual take-over, of a representative government. First, it is used to indoctrinate those who are unwilling to embrace "rugged individualism"; and, then, it is therapeutively coerced on the general public. Here, the most obvious indictor is the fact that "medical marijauna" is an oxymoron.

There are not enough benefits, from using any illusory substance, to offset the message it affords the malleable masses. Until DEI inductivity is replaced by simple objectivity, discussing these emotion propelled subjects is not possible.

I have indeed tried so-called medical cannabis. Cannot say I felt much better pain wise ( desperately needing hip replacement at the time).

I did take the Real Thing a few years back, and found it to be a very effective painkiller. Yes I was well aware of the addictive and hallucinative qualities.

The problem I see now is that there are so many different brands and types available. We can't be certain what CBD content the oil they are buying contains, if any.

My conclusion is until it becomes more widely available for other cond, we'll need to stick to opioid, and maybe holistic solutions.

@KPangela - The unpredictability brings me to one question. Did it actually reduce the pain; or, simply alter the pain receptors in your brain?

As a beneficiary of three brain injuries, (in addition to being from Oklahoma) I would not risk long term receptive ability, in exchange for temporary pain relief.

Is that an missue for you?
