I did the Darkness into light walk Saturday morning.  Very emotional time.

Hopefully it will bring awareness of suicide and depression And make people realise there are people there to help them and they can get through the dark times.

I have lost 2 family members to suicide. I wish they knew where to get help.

I suffer with depression myself and have been in the darkness myself.  I count myself one of the lucky ones as I'm not in the darkness for to long and manage to get back into the light quick enough.

Pieta house is there to help in ireland and I hope that the 100k people who did this walk in ireland yesterday have helped many people come from the Darkness into the light.

Well done Cassie!  You are an inspiration and fervently hope that you will continue to be able "get back into the light" and everyone who suffers from this terrible condition will too be able to "come from the Darkness into the light".

I send you love and much admiration.

Ann xx

This sounds great! I hope they would organize more and everywhere! I have a friend with depression and it makes me sad not being able to help her and I think an event like this one could help her a lot, you know if the organize them in London too?

Hey fatima,

This year they did organise a walk in London.  Don't know any details but they are trying to make it a global event every year. It'll be on the website.  If you Google darkness into light pieta house. Be around the same time next year. It was great. Would highly recommend it.

Hope you're friend is ok. There's plenty of help out there. But I know why I'm in a dark place no one canhelp.  It's hard to explain unless you have been there.

Take care

Cassie

Yes fatima, there was one in london this year http://dil.pieta.ie/venues/venue-view/darkness-into-light-london

You can see more info there if you want. As Cassie says it is sometimes hard to accept help from others while being depressed, but it is good that you try to help and cheer up your friend
