Hi everyone,

How are you feeling today? 😊

Many people turn to decaf coffee to reduce their caffeine intake without giving up the comfort of a warm cup. But a recent health debate has put this daily habit under scrutiny.

Some health advocacy groups are now urging the FDA to ban methylene chloride, a solvent used in certain decaffeination processes, due to its potential cancer risks. While the levels in decaf coffee are low and within legal limits, this chemical is also used in things like paint removers and metal cleaners… which understandably raises eyebrows.

💬 What’s your take?

  • Do you drink decaf? Did you know about methylene chloride before?
  • Does this kind of news make you rethink your choices, or do you feel the risks are minimal?
  • Would you be open to switching to “Swiss Water Process” or other solvent-free decafs?
  • And what would you like to see from brands or regulators to feel more confident about what’s in your cup?

I don't drink decaf and haven't heard a thing about the cancer debate. Although, I am in the UK!
