Hey everyone!
How's it going? 😊

Communicating with healthcare providers is so important, but it’s not always easy to feel heard.

💬 What’s your experience?

  • Do you feel your concerns are taken seriously during appointments?
  • Have you ever had to advocate strongly for yourself to get the care you need?
  • What tips do you have for making the most out of a doctor’s visit?

This is such an important topic—let’s talk about it! 😊

All the best,
Somya from the Carenity Team 🌷

Absolutely. My GP is an amazing person. She makes time to listen and discuss anything that is concerning me.

@Junej6 Hi,

It’s so heartwarming to hear about your positive experience with your GP. Having a doctor who listens and takes the time to address concerns can make such a difference. 😊

  • What do you think makes your GP stand out compared to others?
  • Have they ever given you advice or support that’s been particularly impactful for your health?
  • Do you think having a good relationship with your GP has influenced how you approach managing your condition?

Your story is a great reminder of how valuable a supportive healthcare professional can be. Thanks for sharing it with us! 🌟

Take care,
Somya from the Carenity Team 🌷

Without a doubt! I have been with my PCP for 20+ years and he or his NP ALWAYS take the time for me and listen. Shame on those Dr's that cant be bothered and rush patients out of an office so they can make time/room for more appointments!

I feel my GP listens to me and certainly follows through on any concerns that either of us have about my health.

I've been with my GP now since arriving in Northern Ireland (7 years). He is a wonderful man and listens to both my husband and I. He spends good time with us both and I would not change practices.

Regret, I had to ask for a 2nd opinion regarding my neurologist. He was always ready to either increase my epilepsy medication or change it, and would not listen to how my epilepsy was affecting me and my body. I was placed with a new neurologist in August 2024 who listened to me at our first consultation and I feel I have more faith in the way he connects with the patient. Hopefully, my seizure pattern will change with his way of thinking and willingness to be more human and listen to how my epilepsy plays a part in my life, side effects of medication and more.

@Mikejohn Thank you for responding. I've had epilepsy for 51 years now and been on several medications that have not worked. In the last 7 years I have tried 11 medications.

Currently I am taking Zebinix (2 X 200mg) and Phenytoin (2 X 100mg) daily. Zebinix is new and I have been on Phenytoin for approximately 40 years.

The other name for Zebinix is Eslicarbazepine.
