Yes because 9/10 times I end up cancelling at the last minute due to how I am feeling at the time; which is usually in pain or just absolutely knackered.
I don't make any plans in advance these days, I go with the flow and see how I am day by day. On a good day I'll meet up with friends, on a bad one I stay home, simple.
I have lost "friends" through not being reliable and their loss not mine; my true friends understand and come to me if I can't go to them. But in the same vein, I don't get many invites to things now, it used to bother me, but these days I let it ride.

@YorkshireJayne Thank you so much for sharing this. I can really relate to what you're saying. It takes strength to adapt your life around how youβre feeling each day, and I admire the way youβve chosen to prioritise your well-being.
Losing people who don't understand can be painful, but as you said β those who truly care will make the effort. Itβs not always easy to live day by day, but your approach shows a lot of resilience and wisdom.
Sending you strength for the tough days and joy for the better ones π

Living with a chronic illness often means dealing with unpredictability β flare-ups, fatigue, pain, and other symptoms can appear without warning. For many, this makes it difficult to commit to plans ahead of time, whether it's a social gathering, a holiday, or even a simple day out.
β¨ How do you navigate this challenge in your day-to-day life?
β¨Do you avoid making plans in advance, or do you find ways to adapt when the time comes?
β¨How do your friends or family react when you have to cancel or change plans?
β¨Have you found any strategies that help you feel more in control of your schedule?
π¬ Your experiences could really help others in the community feel less alone β donβt hesitate to share!
Warmly,
Somya.P β The Carenity Team π
