Hi everyone 👋

Let’s talk about something that often gets overlooked: personal hygiene. For many people living with chronic illness or pain, even the smallest everyday tasks, like brushing your hair, taking a shower, or tidying your space, can feel exhausting, overwhelming, or physically impossible.

You’re not alone if you’ve been there. Let’s open up:

  • Do you find it hard to keep up with basic hygiene when your symptoms flare?
  • Have you found ways to make things easier with help, tools, or routines?
  • What would you say to someone feeling ashamed or alone in this struggle?

I keep my emergency 02 cylinder by the bath and use it for a few mins when getting dried & dressed - this allows me to remain independent - without it I would definitely need assistance most days

Yes it does but that is where my husband helps me with showering, getting me dressed and undressed, if he wasn't around I would never be able to do things, as I find everything, breathtaking, as having so many illnesses it very hard to cope with it all, when I go out I have to take things easier, asi have stop rest start again it's hard they have changed my inhaler now, I'm on trimbow now 2 puffs in the morning and 2 at night,, now they want to do a dexa Scan to see if I can have a break from my risdronate as I have been on that for over 10yrs, and that could be causing my illnesses worse it's so hard having all these illnesses, I have gaul stones in my bile duct been told that they will have to inflate my stomach to get them removed, by a proper operation, but then was told because of all my illnesses it can be dangerous to my life, was told that if I am into to much pain then they will have to find a different way but with the pain was to take painkillers until it was unbearable so at the moment I have a lot going on with a lot of my illnesses

I meditate and stretch every morning. I've also found some light (with a beat to tap to) music, A bit later on in the morning in the morning helps me get going. On mornings when I really really struggle I have to keep saying to myself I am enough as I am and acknowledge to myself how I feel telling myself it's ok to feel like this absolutely fine!
