@Courtney_J I like to buy organic products when I can, but I think some of the problem for many people is the price. Sometimes a piece of organic fruit can cost almost twice as much as a regular one! I do think it's better for us to farm with fewer chemicals and pesticides because goodness knows what it does do us, but it's not really financially possible for many. I wish we could do something to make good produce more affordable.

There is zero evidence that organic food is any better than mass produced food merely a Middle Class fad. Food cooked by top chiefs established that the public could not tell the difference. It was fun watching chickens being cooked and every one settled for the better taste of intensive farmed chicken was the best. As for organic veg the list of chemicals used to prevent bugs, pests etc. were just as long as massed produced veg.
So the question must be why a Doctor is promoting organic over mass produced food when a balanced diet is the best option. For the average or lower income families the best option under budget is standard produce, let the Middle Classes waste their money. There is no evidence organic tastes better or superior in any way to ordinary veg!
The HYPOTOXIC diet is concerning over food poisoning issues, we cook food to prevent it and light cooking may not be responsible. I must admit bias as I am not a fan of andante cooked food, just in a resturant ealier this week with hard veg, most off putting!

But doesn't it stand to reason that food produced with fewer or no pesticides is better for us. We'd be much healthier if we did eat organic and pay twice as much for our food but consume half as much. One of the main culprits of ill health is simply eating too much.

I have some real concerns over the suggested diet, raw sausages and raw egg yolks for starters. Haven't we always been advised that raw or lightly cooked eggs are a potential source of salmonella? Sausages - unless you buy your meat direct from source aka the local farm shop, who, fingers crossed, rear and sell their own meat, can we be sure the sausage is 100% meat?
Undercooked chicken and pork are both well regarded sources of food poisoning. Strangely enough, other meats served "pink" are not!
Organic foods ...... for a foodstuff to be TRULY organic, any land it is grown on/in, has to have been chemical free for at least 20 years BEFORE "organic" crops are produced from said land. Therefore, your middle and upper classes who pronounce they always buy organic are being well and truly ripped off - but who cares, if that's how they want to spend their dosh, let them waste it!!
I have to agree with the angle on dairy - anything from a cow is the worst enemy of eczema, asthma.
The Doctor doesn't mention that potatoes are supposedly a source of joint inflammation so should be avoided by those with joint issues

Environmental, health, nutritional... The numerous benefits of organic agriculture and produce are now widely acknowledged!
But what do you think? Are you for or against organic food? Do you regularly buy organic food? Why or why not?
