Hi everyone,

I hope you had a nice weekend.emoticon coffee

We all know that smoking is bad for our health. But we also know that quitting smoking may be one of the hardest things to do.

Some people claim that moving away from real to electronic cigarettes helps you quit smoking, and even though e-cigarettes are not completely harmless, they do not contain as many harmful substances as a classic cigarette.

For those of you who used to smoke or still do - what are your thoughts on the subject? Would you be willing to replace tobacco smoking by vaping? If you already have, do you think it can really help people quit?

Feel free to share your own experience.

Take care,

Courtney

Hi, I used to smoke when I was younger. I have never tried an electronic cigarette, and honestly do not see how it can replace a real one, and how switching to electronic cigarettes can help one quit. I remember it was hard when I quit, and I "only" smoked for about 8 years prior to quitting.

I gave up smoking 30 years ago and don't miss it . To me those people who use electronic cigarettes are simply using them to replace tobacco.

I know that a big issue is with finding something to occupy our hands or our minds. As far as I'm concerned , me giving up smoking was an achievement and a positive step in my life.

I know that smoking or using e cigarettes is personal .

I havlike it in my facee just said myopinion , but I'm not knocking people who use e cigarettes, but please blow your smoke away from other people's faces , I

@Rolandv111 Roland

it was on the news last week that e cigs contain more poisons in many cases than normal cigarettes do

so many people who took them up and dropped normal cigarettes could risk more dangerous toxins. i am glad that i gave up smoking 30 years ago and still dont use cigarettes as a crutch in my life. i say this from speaking to people who smoke and use drugs (recreationally) i am against people using drugs for recreational purposes, because i like many other people have to take prescribed medication to help to keep us alive. i like many people have spent many years trying to get them reduced?

But in future i will not bother I will just take what is prescribed for me. because when the hospital to Azathioprene off me after 17 yrs , 2 years later i had a massive bowel flare up. that lasted from last August until this february. i ended up being admitted to hospital with Pneumonia. the bowel flare up, high sugar figures and low blood pressure. i was discharged as being medically fit, but a couple of hours later I passed out in my kitchen, banging my head.

i was readmitted to the same hospital with the same illnesses , but also covid19,which I contracted while in hospital. i also lost 3 stone before my admission to hospital and a further stone whilst i was in hospital. thankfully i have now regained some wieght and am at home and feeling better than i have for a long time.

But i will never smoke anything again in my life.
