Hello all,
do you eat your 5 portions of fruit and vegetables per day? What are your favourite? Have you got any advice you could share with Mrspotter on how to increase your fruit/veggies intake?
Thanks a lot!
Take care,
Courtney

Ah it’s not easy as I’m a fussy eater and not so sure the fruits u buy in supermarkets are good quality as sometimes if u buy a lot together I find some of them grow mild

@Mikejohn my point exactly. Better to eat less but better quality

@dpoc02 ye I try but unfortunately our local supermarket doesn’t seem to get the best of fruit so it’s not easy

I eat at least 5 a day but am limited as to what I can eat. For example I can't eat anything from the cabbage family or citrus fruits as they aggravate a large hiatus hernia I have. Unfortunately because of the serious nature of my asthma they are reluctant to operate so have to manage it myself.

I try to eat 5 veg and fruit combined or more some days, I am diabetic so have to be careful with the fruits which I find difficult at times because I love them all.

I have short bowel syndrome and am not allowed too much fruit and veg, especially the high fibre sort. However I still believe it’s important to eat. Homemade soups and fruit smoothies are a good way of consuming fruits and veggies. However I could just live off raspberries and can’t wait for them to ripen in my garden. They never seem to manage to make the journey from the garden to the kitchen and just vanish out of my hands somehow 🤣

@Mrspotter my point of view, it's not about the quantity, it's about the quality. I take this recommendation as a sort of a goal which is nice to achive, but it's not the of the world if I don't. WHat I prefer is to buy good-quality products, and try to have a balanced diet. I try to eat fruit and vegetables every day, sometimes I don't succeed and It's ok for me.
Mrspotter
thank you all for your insights. I guess I just have to accept that it's not the end of the world, as @dpoc02 says.

It’s all getting a little complicated as now it’s not 5 a day, the goal post has moved to 30 different fruits and vegetables for a week. Who’s going to afford all that?
