The beginning of each year brings us the same thoughts: have we kept the resolutions made last year? To what degree? What are the new ones to make? And we put a lot of effort in making a list of impossible resolutions, which will soon be abandoned and forgotten.

And what if we changed this habit? What if we stopped this incessable competition with ourselves and focused on bringing more kindness and comfort to our lives? What if we asked ourselves what we want from 2018? What is our wish? What would give us pleasure and make us a little happier? A new activity? A journey? A reunion with old friends? A pet? A theater performance?

Personally, in 2018 I'd like to treat myself to a nice trip to a far-away country, because I know that it will bring me joy.

What about you? emoticon wink

I always make resolutions but never stick to them as they are always out of my reach so I end up feeling why bother but I've thought sensibility about 2018 and my health and a stroke I had in 2017 that took a few things away from and I want them back I'm going to learn to swim again plus  IT would help with everything else. that's going on in my body and be a great form of exercise that hopefully with the water won't be so painful on my body maybe drop a few pounds as well here's hoping  x

I stopped making resolutions years ago why put yourself through agony only to give up on them months in and life tends to get in the way so now i just dont plan and go with the flow so long as im healthy  can keep caring for my wife and making sure kids are happy even though they are now all grown up have my cats to keep me amused when things seem bad and they do help the wife when her pains are so bad she cannot move

fOR 2018 i WOULD JUST LIKE TO BE AS HEALTY AS I CAN BE, I AM TAKING CHARGE OF MYSELF BY WALKING AND SWIMING AS MUCH AS POSSABLE IN THE NEW YEAR, WALKING NOT ON THE ROADS BUT IN A FIELD WHERE IT IS SOFT ON MY FEET AND HIPS, NEXT TO SWIM TWO OR THREE TIMES A WEEK, ALSO CUT DOWN ON MY EATING TO LOSE A FEW POUNDS, IF I CAN STICK TO THIS I WILL BE HELPING MYSELF TO A BETTER  ME.

All I wish is that my health is good. I will continue to go to the gym and swim to maintain what ever little mobility that have. i know that i will never be able to ditch my crutches, as they are my permanent life partner now. I will en dower to eat healthy and spend more time exercising and less time sitting at the computer.

My wish for New Year is that my feet improve so that I can walk without pain. I love walking but my feet dont. Thanks to diabetes I feel. So guess I will/must take to swimming again. Which is good as no weight bearing exercise but walking was so good for me too.

I never make New Year Resolutions as they seem a bit of a waste of time - most of my friends never keep to them for more then a few days.

However - Change can be made at any time as can wishes and hopes. I hope I manage to lose a little weight this year to improve my mobility and make me feel better in myself. I wish for more laughter in my life. I intend to change how I react to some situations and not try to take on the world and it's woes but to look after me more (decided after a severe talk from my husband and soul mate).
