I never get angry, anxious, depressed or annoyed everyday is a good day, life is for living, I have exercised extremely hard over 4 years since diagnosis of COPD, I am fortunate I appreciate life too much to let negative thoughts in.

Hi I wake up every morning and say to myself " this will be a good day " " I will stay possitive all day" .Because I don't realy know how long I've got left ( who does) I don't want to spend one miserable day with negative thoughts. My daily saying is " onwards and upwards " I have lung cancer stage 4 chronic kidney disease stage 5 and I have a stoma .carol

There is absolutely nothing in this world to be worried about, with most diseases or severe health conditions, stress worry and anxiety exacerbate the condition, so wake up every day and live the best life that you can, I have had COPD for 4 years and live a normal life with barely any restrictions.

@Flip5ter Good for you thinking that way, but I have to disagree that there is nothing in this world to worry about!

I'm always a glass half full person and I try my best to take something positive from every day, even if that's just that I got out of bed that day...that's not to say that I stay there all day, the only time that happens is if I am really ill. The last time I was in bed for days on end was when we both had Covid, we physically couldn't lift our head off the pillow, let alone get out of bed!
However, constant pain gets to you; constantly having to say no to invitations from friends; constantly wondering how you will be when you wake up or even how you will be when you've done something as mundane as washing up! But, I carry on regardless and the things that get me through the day are little things like seeing birds in the garden, the sun shining, getting the washing out on the line, a smile and a chat from someone when I walk the dog we look after...it's the little things that keep you going.
