Not a fan of our summer's monsoon season! The humidity really affects my arthritis and its painful.
I try to stay indoors and hydrated as much as possible during the summer months

At the moment it is the hottest it has been so far in my hometown. And l am once again unable to move due to the effect this abominable weather has had on me. Summer is not my favourite season at the best of times as it causes extra pain for me. I am on my bed, legs /feet up after soaking my feet /ankles in cold water to ease my discomfort. As l am only sitting on my bath lift to soak my feet/ankles throughout the day l have left the water in the bath so l am doing my bit to conserve water here . A damp sheet hung up in the window in hope that the evaporation will cool the room. If l could sleep downstairs l would but itβs just not possible. I have cracked the loft hatch open to allow heat to escape my bedroom and l am glad l live alone as l have taken to wearing a damp flannel on my head π l look very silly but it works for me. Another damp towel is draped over my bed lever with a fan directed at it and seems to help a little. I hope this weather eases off as l despise it. Additional joint pain & swelling, upset stomach as heat affects my stomach badly when weather is too hot & then we get the sleepless nights. I hope everyone is coping as best as they possibly can and like me are looking forward to cooler days π

I feel very run down in hot weather. Even if it's only 25Β°C, I think the fact that it's too humid affects us all badly. However, a couple of tricks I've learned:
- fan blowing over ice cools the room down.
- keep windows and curtains/blinds closed prevents hot wind and sun coming into a room.
- if possible, strip
- as always, make sure you're hydrated π

The heat makes me tired and feel less active. I prefer a more gentle tempersture rather than these extreme heatwaves

@topi34 I feel so tired ache all over and my head and eyes just feel tired more I don't go out as the heat really affects my breathing, so I stay in and seem to rest more I drink as much as I can and I have to wear a sleeve for my lymphodema and that makes me sweat more I love the sunshine but it is definitely to hot for me I have a fan that I can wear round my neck, to help me also I have a stand up one in front of me, I am now taking iron tablets as I am anemic, and using a nebulizer with saline liquid, I am getting a phone call appointment to check on my general medicine and next month I am having my review on my medication, then iwhen I get my heamotology appointment I have to have a blood test a week before my appointment so I have quite a bit going on health wise, have to wait 2 more weeks for my new lymphodema gauntlets, but while this heat goes on I'm not going to venture out

Hi everyone,
How are you feeling today?
Many of us think of summer as a healthy time of year, but it isn't always that simple. According to experts, heat, dehydration, poor sleep, digestive issues, and constantly moving between hot outdoor temperatures and air-conditioned spaces can put extra stress on the body and leave us feeling more vulnerable to illness. The effects may be subtle at first, showing up as fatigue, headaches, stomach problems, brain fog, or simply feeling "off" for no obvious reason.
Experts also point to the important link between gut health and immunity. Changes in eating habits, drinking less water than we need, disrupted sleep schedules, and the physical strain of hot weather can all take a toll over time.
π Do you find that you get more tired, run down, or prone to symptoms during the summer months?
π What changes do you notice in your body when temperatures rise?
π What habits help you stay healthy and protect your energy during hot weather?
