Hey everyone,

How’s your day going? 🧠

With all the talk about artificial intelligence in medicine, from symptom checkers and chatbots to AI-assisted diagnoses, it’s natural to wonder where it’s all headed.

πŸ’ What do you think?

  • Would you feel comfortable relying on AI to manage part of your care?
  • Do you think AI could or should replace human doctors someday?
  • Where would you draw the line between helpful tech and needing a real human touch?

Yes, it is clear we can trust AI to diagnose issues as well as humans. Firstly Doctors use an idiot guide to diagnose our health conditions, their experience adds to their skills. But we do know they make many mistakes by not identifying serious conditions, what we do know also that they are overworked and make mistakes. We have breast cancer scans now that a computer identifies cancer cells better than human experts. The computer does not get tired or unwell or indeed hungover, it is some years back that I read the article but the computer was far better at the job. As our health conditions are simply a fault finding procedure then an AI might indeed be a lot better with the correct safe guards in place. We already use online or phone calls to non medical staff at our GPs, so an AI would be a better bet at identifying a serious condition. We have a NHS failing at all levels and like many professional services AI will replace much of the said professionals in society and perhaps do a better job.

No way. It's bad enough not getting appointments in person and having to be diagnosed over the phone.

In the past gp's knew you in person and you knew who to trust.
