I am a 48yr old single mum living with bipolar, I feel that nobody understands my condition, I have a new community nurse that called me a monster and has made my condition worse over the last 2 weeks, I feel that the nhs don't give a dam and I have occasional suicidal thoughts thinking everybody else would b better off without me

Hello @kayloo666

Have you asked to change your nurse? She shouldn't treat you that way.

I am not an expert, but all I can say is that you should try to find the best help for you and don't accept bad treatment from people that are meant to help you.

Best,

Gilda

@kayloo666 I hope you were able to change nurses! Everyone is definitely better off with you in their life, especially your kid(s)!

I agree with @launas‍ , support groups or sites like this can really really help. Just talking with people who understand what it's like is a relief.

Having a support system is really important when trying to cope with this in the day-to-day. That can be a professional who understands what your condition and can try help you with therapy or medication or just a friend or family member who be there for you.

Hello everyone,

How are you doing? emoticon cute

I thought I would comment to share our most recent testimonial on bipolar disorder:
"Writing 'In My Bipolar Head' was a real psychoanalysis"
A member of Carenity France shared his story with us on how he finally accepted his bipolar disorder and learned to cope with it, and even wrote a book about it!

What do you think? How do you cope with your bipolar disorder in the day-to-day? Do your loved ones understand it and support you?

Feel free to share here!

Take care,
Courtney

@Courtney_J I feel like bipolar gives a lot of us a creative spark. It's really inspiring to see other people with bipolar harness that and make success with it.
