I have been recommended ICD for arrhythmia. Does anyone have it? What is it like having it? Any limitations? Thanks

Hello @Evelynnn How are you?

Thank you for starting this discussion today! Living with an Implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) can seem like a huge change, yet the people I know, who live with it, are ok. It is something you should always be aware of, but it can be a huge help in your life, therefore I think talking to other patients and learning more about it can help you get used to the idea of it. I will tag some members who might want to share their thoughts on this topic.

Hey everyone! How are you feeling today?

Have you heard of an Implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD)? What do you think about it?

Take care,

Polina from the Carenity team

@Polina.K i have not heard anything about a inplantable defib, but i have ones that are placed on the buildings on streets. i want to help other people and that is why , i have paid for a defib out of my own pocket.

the main problem, besides raising the money , is getting permission from building owners to site it,because it has to be powered by electricity and them the pads etc have to be replaced if used and every 2years if not used Mr chipps
