I would love to chat to others who have this condition. I’ve had it since 2016 cramps when walking and now freezing feet for last 2 months. I walk regularly. im taking clopidigrel and Artorvastatin. I’ve had PAD since 2016. I’ve had my 2nd brancial church and was ok but I’m now getting freezing cold feet. I walk 2 miles everyday through the cramps and pin and needles in feet. I’m looking to chat to others on this as all GPS do is check cholesterol and Bp with no further instruction. Please advise as I’m worried it’s getting worse. Thanks Lorraine.

Hi Lorraine,

Thank you so much for sharing your story. It takes a lot of strength to open up about what you’re going through, and it sounds incredibly frustrating. You’ve been walking through pain for years, doing everything right like staying active and taking your meds, but still feeling like something’s getting worse. The freezing feet you're describing, especially with pins and needles, can be signs that circulation isn’t reaching your feet as well as it should, which, as you know, is a big concern with PAD. You're not alone in feeling dismissed when the response is just more blood pressure checks and cholesterol tests.

I’ll also tag more members who might relate to your experience so we can get more support and advice coming your way:

Has anyone else here been living with PAD for a while? Have you experienced symptoms like freezing feet, cramps, or pins and needles that seem to be getting worse? What kind of support or advice have you received from your GP or specialist?

You’re doing so much already, and your voice matters. Let’s keep this conversation going.

Take care,

I’ve booked an appointment with GP tomorrow. I really feel that this condition isn’t monitored enough. I had the ankle test a while back and thankfully that was ok. Sometimes I can walk ok and other times the cramps are bad. Thanks for your support
