I am also recently diagnosed and it came as a bit of shock as it was discovered during tests for another issue. I am now on an inhaler and in process of giving up smoking, so life is confusing at times. I have had some good support from my Quit Smoking advisor as I have had a few issues with increased mucus.

Really looking forward to the hay-fever season and what effect that might have, as I usually struggle through the summer months anyway. Any advice from fellow sufferers and anyone else who has given up smoking since their diagnosis

its strange im 72 years old now have copd recovering from pnuemonia which was very frightening never had pnuemonia in my life i know the dangers of any infection been insulin dependant for many years   i know the risk of infection they gave me steroid tablets in the hospital  to help my lungs, of course, there is always a downside the steroids were affecting my sugar levels they were at 30 so they had to give me fast-acting insulin which in turn was causing me hypos 1 .6  very low
