Hi am 42 and had FM for 7 yrs and up until March this year I was on Morphine, Duluxtine, Acupain, amytriptilin, etc: up to 20 tablets a day, I stopped taking all of them  due to the side affects they gave me, listing just a few - tiredness, pins and needles, sickness and still in lots of pain. I am now medication free and have so much energy and no sickness or feeling dizzy Again etc:.

My full time job as a childminder caring for up to 15 children is very demanding but I love it and yes the pain is still there and some days are worse than others but I would prefer to be in pain than the 10+ side affects I had with all the above medication.

Has any one else on any others herbal tablets that they feel are really good? As it all help.

Hi, i was diagnosed with Fibro only a few months ago but have been suffering for a few years. I also have endomitriosis ,oh the joy's! i'm trying my best but coping with the pain even with medication is difficult and has lead me to give up my chosen career path. I have been training to work with animals for 3 years but have now come to the realization that it's a job that it just to physical. This has made my depression far worse, i'm just glad i have a supportive partner. I am now aiming to re-train to become a counselor for people with mental health issues and or chronic pain conditions but i still worry that even re-training will be difficult due to the extra paperwork and stress it could put me under mentally... i need medication that will help with the fibro fog and pain, esspecially my hands and legs.

Hi all. I’m 63 and was diagnosed during lockdown 2020 with fibromyalgia. Had symptoms (pain, depression, bowel problems, rashes) for years before but they got worse prior to diagnosis. . I’ve also recently had surgery for breast cancer followed by radiotherapy (it was Stage 1 thankfully) and now taking hormone therapy Exemestane for five years. Side effects cause joint and muscle pain, weight gain and menopause symptoms are back, hot flushes, night sweats and mood swings. Already taking Citalopram (which also can cause weight gain and has). Moving around is difficult so how do you lose weight when medication is working against you. I can feel the weight piling on but have no will to diet. I eat fairly healthily. I take Tramadol when desperate but try to stick to Ibuprofen and Paracetamol Plus. Can’t take anything with codeine as it makes me sick. Been very depressed for two weeks and have upped my Citalopram again this week as feel like I want to stop the pain and depressive heavy weight in my chest. I do have an amazing GP who is very knowledgable of fibro and is sympathetic so I’m lucky there. Sorry this is long but sometimes it’s good to have a good moan. Thanks for listening fellow fibro warriors and hope I’ve not made anyone too sad 😞 💜💜

Hello @Maryquitecontrary, thank you for sharing with us. I'm sorry to hear you're going through a difficult time, but I'm glad to know that your GP is informed about fibro, as that's not always the case. 🙂

Has anyone else had weight gain with your fibro? Does your joint or other pain make it hard for you to stay active? How do you cope with it?
