I suffer in the heat (it feels like my brain melts and I cease to function) and often retreat into my bedroom, shut the door and turn on my air conditioning unit. I also have a cool vest and cool scarves etc for when I venture out. Oh, and I take ½ a teaspoon of bi-carbonate of soda in orange juice every morning as it's supposed to help heat tolerance.

How do you cope?

I dread hot weather just because it tires me out and makes me clumsy, so bare feet as often as possible, it's my favourite footwear   Not possible at work though, I have to wear safety boots!! so I went part-time.

I used to wear boots for work (was a tube train driver) and often drove home barefoot. My poor feet were screaming to be let out.

Yay, a tube train driver, awesome. I loved being a truck driver, used to drive them barefoot if it was a distance job. Don't you miss working your cool job or was it a shite job??

Yes I do miss it but as I now walk with crutches going down onto 640v of rails on occasions wouldn't have been a good idea. lol I'm also knackered 24/7 too, bloody MS fatigue.

Prior to that I was a driving instructor on cars, buses and class.2 lorries. I miss them too...but..hey ho. I've only just given up the PCV & LGV licences and that felt really really weird. I still drive a car but it's automatic now. I bit the bullet and got a motability car at the end of last year and my compensation to 'crockdom' was that I got a hybrid 4x4 ;-) :-D I love it....life's full of little compensations, eh?!

Oooh, driving barefoot, love it! Enjoy.x
