Hi all, I've noticed I've had a lot more pain and swelling lately so it made me wonder if it's because of the summer weather? Has anyone else noticed that their OA gets worse in the heat or is it just me?

@lotsapain80 @Courtney_J Personally I'm not having any worse symptoms than usual fortunately. But I think there is something about humidity or air pressure that can affect the joints and swelling. I usually have a harder time in the cold.

I find that rain affects my arthritis and also my fibromyalgia. I usually ache all over even before it starts to rain...I could be a weather forecaster because I can predict when it is going to rain! My hips and shoulders hurt the most then. I basically just have learned to live with the pain, as Aleve and Tylenol Arthritis don't help when it is complete body pain. Currently I'm dealing with some heart issues, so my arthritis isn't the worst of my problems. I'm going to try to attach a pain chart that is much more realistic than the ones at the doctor's office.

I think is the humidity that corses the pain not the heat .I also find the damp and rain very painful .

I always feel more swollen in my feet in the summer and my knee pain feels worse. I do not like the heat when it causes me to sweat for with the pain and the heat and the sweating, it makes me so very uncomfortable. The rain and damp weather also make the pain more intense. I hear that some people with OA retire to Spain because the dry heat there helps them, so it may well be the humidity here that is the main issue.

I know mine does, ESPECIALLY during the monsoon season. I do not like snow or rainy seasons because they are both very painful
