Hi does anyone know if there is any food/drink/health remedy you can take to lower blood sugars between meals?  It is an unexpected high which as you know makes him feel weak and ill.  It is a downfall that you have to remain high until your next main meal.

What type of Diabetes does he have?

If Type 1 then take more fast acting Insulin and review how many units he's having each meal.

if Type 2 or Type 1 a method all Diabetics I know along with myself find lowers our BS is to get up and move around as much as possible even if it's just around the room, exercise will drop the blood sugars quite quickly every time but please test his blood sugars every 60 minutes for the next couple of hours because they will keep dropping slowly and you don't want a hypo'...

Is this a new diagnosis?

He's been type 1 since the beginning of February and since then hasn't been high so much but hypo'd more.  I was told that you cannot correct a high blood sugar until your next meal which may be a good 4-5 hours later.

Sorry for the late reply.  Keep forgetting about Carenity.  He has diabetes a year in February.  Time has flown.  Think hormonal teenager stage is raising his blood sugars at the moment.  Could feeling too warm raise your blood sugars?  This happened on holiday and last night he was feeling too warm as was I and his blood sugars were higher than usual first thing before breakfast?
