Hi everyone, how are you feeling today?

Living with type 2 diabetes can be exhausting in more ways than one. Fatigue is a common and frustrating symptom that can come from fluctuating blood sugar levels, medications, emotional stress, or simply the energy it takes to manage the condition each day. It can impact work, relationships, and your ability to enjoy daily life.

Let’s talk about what helps. Even small habits can make a difference when it comes to feeling more in control of your energy.

  • What strategies help you manage your fatigue day-to-day?
  • Are there any routines or tips that give you a boost of energy, even briefly?
  • How do you find a balance between rest and activity without letting diabetes hold you back?

I suffer from Fybromyalgia as well as type 2 diabetes, the fatigue has always been with me as was diagnosed with fybromyalgia since I was about 40 I am now 66 and diagnosed with diabetes about 5 years ago. To be totally honest I don't feel any different since my diabetes was diagnosed so can't really say that medication I take for my diabetes has made it worse..trying every medication for diabetes that my body rejected or side effects or i ended up in hospital. Until now that I am prescribed mounjaro. It has helped with my bloods but made my fatigue so much worse . I feel that I know we need medication as weightloss and healthy eating don't always mean you can come off medication altogether. I feel so disheartened sometimes but I know i need the medication but I also need a life.

@Magscot I can relate to the fatigue part. Some days with my type 2 diabetes I already feel very drained, so I can imagine how frustrating it must be when the medication helps your blood sugar but makes the tiredness worse.

I hope you’re able to find the right balance with your treatment so you can still enjoy your daily life 😘

@Magscot I fully understand you. Some days my fatigue is so bad I don’t want to get out of bed either, and sometimes I don’t even have the energy to talk much.

People often say that physical activity helps with fatigue, but I struggle with my weight and sometimes I honestly don’t know where to start. Have you found anything that helps even a little on the really bad days?
