Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed that my blood sugar seems to go up and down quite a lot during the day, and I’m having trouble understanding why.

Sometimes it goes up even when I haven’t eaten much, and other times it drops more than I expected. I’m trying to understand what might be causing these fluctuations — whether it could be related to food, stress, exercise, sleep, or something else.

Does anyone else experience this? Have you managed to figure out what triggers your blood sugar changes?

I’d be really interested to hear about your experiences and any tips that have helped you manage it.

Hi Damien,

Thank you for sharing this, blood sugar swings can be really confusing when the pattern isn't obvious, so it makes total sense you're trying to figure out what's behind them.

You're right that it's rarely just food - stress, sleep, hormones, illness, and even activity timing can all play a role, and everyone responds a bit differently. That's exactly why hearing from others living with type 2 diabetes can be so useful.

To the community: have you noticed specific triggers for your own fluctuations? Any tracking habit or routine change that helped you connect the dots?

@sheilawHarrison @SheilaHarrison @Tinker66 @admiredentalcare @Adi12433 @Bagpuss65 @Seanchang @Michelle162 @kenlongstaff @Medic1969 @Funny_Sheep @Cleopatra61 @lonelworld @Mally21 @steevee

Damien, has anything stood out so far - certain times of day, or after specific activities?
