In a video announcement last Friday, Princess Kate of Wales disclosed that she has received a cancer diagnosis.

The 42-year-old Princess mentioned that she has been undergoing chemotherapy as a precautionary measure after undergoing abdominal surgery earlier this year, during which the cancer was discovered. The video did not provide any specific details regarding the type or severity of the cancer.

What are your thoughts about her diagnosis? Do you think they should release more information? Are there any messages you'd like to send her if given the opportunity?

@Somya.P Her light weight may well cause her real issues as she has no reserve, so may be in hospital fed through a tube. But many are suffering the disaster of NHS during Covid which has/will lead to many deaths from cancer. Kate has the benefit of first class private treatment which should increase her life chances and good recovery.

I gave my view when King Charles was diagnosed. My view will not change. They have both had first class treatment from a special clinic which other people with cancer do not get. Some people have been waiting for years just to get a diagnosis under the NHS.

My husband waited 4 years for radiotherapy treatment for prostate cancer which he has just completed. I went with him daily for 3 weeks to his sessions which was emotional and tiring for us both. He has been on hormone injections for 3 months and has another 15 months to go. Chemotherapy was started at least 2 years ago. This has been exhausting but I cannot fault the NHS. All nurses, doctors and specialists have been wonderful during the whole process.

I think its a shame that someone so young has cancer. It is also one of our business. She wanted to keep it private everyone should have that right. We don't know what kind of cancer she has I hooe it is curable. My prayers are with her and all cancer patients
